Matching up

With a healthy Chad Tracy and Tony Clark swinging the bat well, look for manager Bob Melvin to get creative with his lineup against tough right-handed pitchers.

The D-backs have not fared particularly well against tough righties in recent years in part because they have such a right-handed hitting lineup.

This year, Melvin will not hesitate to put Tracy at third, Clark and first and Miguel Montero behind the plate against some righties. It will be worth watching to see whether that helps their success rate.
