Clark to DL, Whitesell recalled

The D-backs on Wednesday placed first baseman Tony Clark on the 15-day disabled list with a strained ligament in his right hand and recalled first baseman Josh Whitesell from Triple-A Reno.

Clark has been bothered by the hand injury since he injured it against the Rangers in the final week of Spring Training and it has particularly bothered him while swinging left-handed.

Whitesell was hitting .356 for Reno in 87 at-bats. He is hitting fifth in Wednesday’s lineup.

Poor TC…I sure hope he will heal soon. In the meantime, I think Josh will make great contributions, especially right now when the club is struggling and really needs some pick-me-ups!

A huge blow to an already battered lineup. Whitesell should provide a bit of an extra pop, but the vetran presence of Clark is going to be sorely missed.

Oh, god! Hope he will be alright for awhile. So I didn’t realize know what happened of Tony Clark has with injured himself during Spring training game. So sorry to hear for my disappointed for him. Hopefully he will be back to the game right after 2 weeks on disabled listed. I met Tony Clark at FanFest and Spring training game. I have a nice contribution with him. It was first time where I met Tony Clark. And I said “You must to be Tony Clark.” then he replied to me and he said “Yes, Sir.” I took a pictures of him where I was there during FanFest from couple months ago.

Also, I saw him at Tucson Electric Park during Spring Training in TUS and I saw him where he is standing near dugout. I came by to says hello to him but, he remember me before. I shake the hands. I have a nice day where we drove to TUS for 2 hours in the car. Hopefully D-Backs need to be improving the game. Wishes you good luck for Tony Clark will try to get better the game.

The comment I left on the Young page shoud have been posted on this site.

I have nothing against Tony Clark but why aren’t they using Tracy. He hasn’t been given the same chances the other players received.
